Office Communications – Are you overlooking anything?
Office Communications – make the environment informative and successful.
Companies communicate with vendors and clients and other entities every day. You might ask yourself what else is necessary, or am I overlooking anything? What about the most important part of your organization, the staff that make everything happen day in and day out.
You may think you are communicating all that is necessary for your staff to be productive and successful at work. However, maybe not in a manner that is providing current and relevant company specific information with the most appropriate delivery method. Fear not! This is a common but solvable problem no matter what type of business you work in. In this situation the staff may feel like they don’t know important information related to the company they are invested in making successful. This can be a result of not having an established and utilized channel of communication within the structure of your company.
Establishing a flow of constant and informative company communication with the entire organization can be key to a successful, happy and flourishing environment. Something as simple as a monthly company newsletter that is delivered to all company staff, not just a peg board in the lunch room containing a collage of out dated documents, but something received via email or even a paper copy that is handed out. Chock full of company specific information, like the company phone directory, company holiday schedule for the coming year, holiday party information or employment anniversaries. A section for opportunities or open positions within the company or even events the organization is involved with as examples.
No matter what is decided to be important and informational content, this opens the channel of communication within your company and establishes an avenue for the sharing of important changes and happenings to be shared with all members that make the company a great place to work. It is time to dissolve the grape-vine method of information handling that leaves the staff without knowledge of important things that may affect their work place and daily routines.
Sharing information in these or similar methods with the entire company is both important and key to a successful environment. Helping your organization feel informed and involved with what is going on around them brings everyone closer together and creates a desirable and collaborative work environment where everyone will be happier to participate in each day.
Beringer has adopted this practice, and using collaboration tools available from Microsoft our environment has become a well informed and knowledge sharing corporate community that works even better together than before.
